Kalimpong Lava and Rishop.

Yo, peeps! Thanks for waiting this long. There has been a lot going on since I posted last. I had some health issues. I needed to adjust to my new organization. Also, some personal stuff on the side was a little bit serious. Now it’s all settled down, so here I am back with the continuation of this long series.

For today we had planned to check out Kalimpong Lava and Rishop. One of them was famous for pine trees and the other one had a huge monastery.

Kalimpong

Our drive got to our place around 9:30 am or something. I called shotgun and took the front seat. We stopped first near a place which is the water source for Kalimpong. After that the next place was the pine trees, these trees were pretty huge and beautiful. Mesmerizing to be honest, just to imagine how this place would like in snow. We spent some time over here. Took some pics. After this we headed to one more pine forest, it had a very nice view of the mountains. There was a bench just on the view to sit and watch. View was beautiful as anything. I kind of get tired of describing how good things look in mountains.

On our way to Rishop we stopped at a small shop to have some tea and momos. I like the momos of Kalimpong, better than WOW momo or any other. They make this with very few ingredients. This let’s you feel the ingredients in taste.

From here on out we headed to the Monastery. This place was literally like up in the heavens. It felt like we were so close to the clouds, there were monks here and there, lot of tourist. We spent about a couple of hrs over here. Navigating the place, taking a shit ton of pics. There was a shop in the monastery. Shobhit bought some cheese from there. It was very hard. He shared it with everyone.

It started to rain a bit, clouds literally came down the road. We had some fritters and samosas near the roadside.

After that, we came back to our place. It was still afternoon. We paid the driver around 3000 INR or something. Headed to a cafe after that, ordered coffee, some drinks and a big pizza.

Mayukh and me paid the bill, Mayukh was giving a party for his promotion. I was giving my pending party for my promotion to Shobhit and Omkar (my other cousin). While they were finishing the coffee and pizza, I headed down to a local jewelers shop. Bought two earrings for my girlfriend. My friends visited a museum nearby. I didn’t go, as I was feeling a bit feverish. After all this, I don’t remember much of the day. I remember teaching cards. The gang played that whole night.

It was just one day remaining in Kalimpong. Everything was explored worth exploring. There was a church nearby. It was uphill. Quite and peaceful place this was. There was a spot with shade to sit. Sat there for a while. The rest of the day was spent back at the hotel. We talked, ate Thupka, played cards, and packing for leaving the next day.

This was all about this series. I loved this place to be honest. I want to go back in winter maybe, see some snow if I’m lucky. Thanks for reading this, see ya at the next one.
