Joining Hitachi Vantara

Hey people! How’s everything going? I’m starting this series as part of my office life in Hitachi Vantara. This series will have quite a few parts. I’ve not yet decided exactly how many but I think at least around 6-8 parts. Hope you guys like this series and maybe pick up a few things from my experience. Cheers to corporate life 🍻.

So, I decided to join Hitachi Vantara. I was in the 7th semester then. I received an email from Hitachi about an internship before joining as an FTE (Full Time Employee). It was still the time of COVID-19. It was the year of 2021. During this time other half of my family from Mumbai came back to our ancestral place here in West Bengal. I remember picking them up from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, along with me Sandeep had also gone.

Anyway, coming back to the context, I was at Ekansh place the day my laptop got delivered. So, I returned from his place back to my home and opened the laptop. And to my surprise, it was a used one. Along with that, one wireless mouse was there. That was all. Not even a single bag or welcome kit nothing. It was kind of disappointing, but it’s alright.

HV sent a document to setup the laptop and to generate user credentials. I followed that document and as part of that was coordinating with IT Support. Mistakenly they had provided me credentials of some other Abhishek Singh and my setup could not be completed. I called my on-boarding officer. She mentioned it’s alright and not to freak out. They had considered some or the other issues may happen. Hence, the actual orientation and other meetings would start from 9th of February. It was a relief to hear that.

Finally, after a couple of days my setup was complete. I was eager to get started. I’ll cover this part of the journey in my next post. Stay tuned, thanks for reading 😉.
